Abstract

This study investigates the influence of microfinance initiatives on the agricultural output of smallholder farmers in rural Kenya, a region characterized by persistent poverty and food insecurity. Employing a mixed-methods approach, we combine quantitative analysis of agricultural production data with qualitative interviews to assess how access to microfinance affects farming practices, investment in technology, and overall productivity. Our findings reveal that microfinance significantly enhances agricultural yield and income diversification among smallholders, contingent upon financial literacy and access to complementary services. This research underscores the critical role of tailored financial products in fostering economic growth and food security in developing regions.
