Civic Engagement in Developing Democracies

Abstract

This article examines the role of civic engagement in strengthening democratic institutions in developing countries. It highlights various forms of civic participation, including voting, protests, and community organizing, and analyzes their impact on government accountability and transparency. The study uses case studies from Latin America, Asia, and Africa to illustrate the challenges and successes of civic movements. It argues for increased support for grassroots initiatives as a tool for democratic consolidation.
