Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Articles
Journal of Religious Studies and Theology publishes original, peer-reviewed research that examines religion, belief systems, theological discourse, and spiritual traditions across historical and contemporary contexts. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches and welcomes contributions that deepen scholarly understanding of religious thought, practice, culture, ethics, and societal influence.
Research Articles – Original analytical or empirical studies in religious studies, theology, anthropology of religion, philosophy of religion, textual interpretation, or comparative religious inquiry. Submissions should clearly articulate research questions, methodology, theoretical grounding, and scholarly contribution.
Review Articles – Systematic or critical reviews that evaluate developments in religious scholarship, theological interpretation, or methodological debates. Reviews should synthesize perspectives, identify gaps in existing literature, and propose future research directions.
Theoretical and Philosophical Analyses – Works that explore theological arguments, interpretive frameworks, ethical reasoning, metaphysical questions, or conceptual models within religious traditions. Submissions should demonstrate coherence, originality, and scholarly rigor.
Case Studies and Field Reports – Studies based on ethnographic research, archival work, community practices, ritual analysis, or contemporary religious phenomena. Reports should emphasize methodological clarity, cultural context, and the interpretive significance of observations.
