Abstract

This article explores the integration of customary law within modern legal systems across African countries. By examining case studies from various regions, the study highlights the persistence of traditional legal practices in contemporary justice systems. The research discusses the challenges and opportunities of harmonizing customary and statutory laws, emphasizing the role of customary law in promoting social cohesion and legal pluralism. It concludes with recommendations for policymakers to effectively incorporate customary principles in national legislation.
