Abstract

This article examines how bilingualism affects cognitive development in children. Through a series of longitudinal studies, the research investigates the cognitive advantages and challenges faced by bilingual children as they acquire language skills. Findings indicate that bilingual children exhibit enhanced cognitive flexibility and executive function compared to monolingual peers. The study provides valuable insights for educators and parents to support language development in bilingual settings.
