Cognitive Linguistics and the Evolution of Metaphor in Political Discourse

This paper investigates the role of cognitive linguistics in understanding the evolution of metaphor within political discourse. By examining political speeches, this study identifies how metaphors shape public perception and influence political ideologies. The research further explores how cognitive frameworks can unravel the complexities of metaphorical language used in politics. Findings suggest a significant correlation between metaphor usage and shifts in political narratives, highlighting the power of language in shaping sociopolitical outcomes.
