Abstract

This study investigates the linguistic landscapes of Tokyo's urban spaces, analyzing the multilingual signage and the socio-cultural implications of language use in public areas. By mapping linguistic landscapes, the research explores how languages coexist and interact in Tokyo's vibrant cityscape. The findings reveal patterns of linguistic diversity and highlight how language visibility reflects power dynamics and cultural influences within urban settings.
